Greg has welcomed the recent return of organised sports by getting stuck into a game of hockey with the TW Flyerz.
He was invited to join the training session for the Flyerz after attending an online training session for the team during the November lockdown.
Run by the Tunbridge Wells Hockey Club, the TW Flyerz was proudly established in 2017 and is part of the England Fyerz programme which aims at encourage young people with physical or learning difficulties to take part in Hockey.
Greg was not the only special guest celebrating the return of outdoor sports, with Team GB Hockey champion Emily Defroand also joining the youngsters in her capacity as a Flyerz Ambassador.
Francis Bridgeman, Men’s Club Captain and Head of Flyerz said: “It was fantastic to welcome two special guests to our TW Flyerz session on Sunday.
"The importance of disability inclusion in sport cannot be understated and we have seen the positive impact that this has had on our Flyerz since we started running these sessions in the autumn of 2017.
"Emily and Greg had previously met our players online during one of our weekly Zoom sessions that we ran during previous lockdowns and had been impressed then by the contribution and engagement of the youngsters themselves.
"This group of youngsters now became as large as life (and perhaps a little lockdown larger than life in the case of some of the coaches) as our guests joined them on the hockey pitch and they were able to show off what they and TW Flyerz is all about - starting with a couple of our players leading the warm up at the beginning of the session.
"We want to continue to improve our own inclusivity and diversity (including further growth of our disability inclusion) at TWHC. We also want to work with our fellow sports clubs in the local community to make Tunbridge Wells a place that is recognised for offering equal sporting opportunities to all and where this is the norm - and this is an initiative which we will now look to take forward.
"Thank you again so much to Emily and Greg for joining us."
