Greg has asked for extra support to be provided for hospitality businesses who have been unable to trade during what would usually be their most lucrative time of year.
He made the request during the Secretary of State for Health's statement on the review of tiered restrictions, which confirmed that Tunbridge Wells will remain in Tier 3 at present, due to now having a rate of Covid-19 above the England average, and rising. Greg, said the evidence of higher rates of infection and hospital pressures in the area means it is understandable that the borough has not been moved down a level.
However, he welcomed the Government's new willingness to apply tiers on a more localised basis and called for Tunbridge Wells to be taken out of Tier 3 as soon as the situation allows.
