Greg met with frontline workers from a range of sectors and organisations including the NHS, care homes, waste collection, Sainsbury's and many local charities today, to thank them for their heroic efforts to deliver services and keep people safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The celebration of NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers' Day was organised by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and included a reception in the Town Hall's Council Chamber where frontline workers could share their experiences with Greg, the Mayor and council leaders.
Following the reception, Greg said: "It was fantastic to be able to recognise the fact that so many people from so many organisations were essential to us getting through Covid.
"Obviously the NHS and care home workers who we know had a major job, to people like the bin men, the street cleaners and store workers and council staff to the people in the restaurants, the charities such as Macmillan Cancer Support and Davvs. So many different people. The bus drivers for example played a critical role. So many different people gave of themselves at a time when we didn't know the level of risk they were facing and they helped us get through it and so it was nice and proper to say thank you."
