Tunbridge Wells received almost half a million pounds of funding from the second round of the Government's £1.57 billion support package for the arts.
The Culture Recovery Fund was established in July 2020 in order to support artistic and cultural venues and projects get through the Covid-19 pandemic. The fund was established after Greg made a speech in the House of Commons on 28 June calling for the additional provisions to be made available for venues which cannot operate during the pandemic. Greg made a second speech in October to push for the Culture Recovery Fund payments to be sped up.
Money from the current round of funding, totalling £492,616, has been allocated to:
The Kino Cinema in Hawkhurst (£111,266 )
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (£271,500 )
Trinity Theatre and Arts Centre in Tunbridge Wells (£109,850)
