The Rail Minister, Claire Perry, announced today that rail passengers will benefit from free wi-fi across England and Wales from 2017.
Train operators, including Southeasterm, are being asked to develop proposals to identify which routes in their area will benefit from this initiative.
Greg commented:
"I am very pleased to see that following my meeting with the Rail Minister in Tunbridge Wells at the end of last month, she has agreed to include Southeastern in her announcement about free wi-fi.
"Many train lines in the UK already have free wi-fi and even some of the buses in Tunbridge Wells have it, so it does seem crazy that it's not already available for rail passengers on our busy routes.
"Southeastern will be deciding which specific routes they will be installing wi-fi services on – I have been pressing them on this issue for some time and will continue to do so until I am certain that we are going to benefit from this investment."
