Greg held a virtual meeting with the Managing Director of Southeastern, David Statham today to discuss a number of issues facing the local rail network in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among the issues discussed were:

  • Flexible ticketing - both parties would like to see Department for Transport authorisation for a range of flexible ticket options to be introduced and both Greg and Mr Statham stressed their commitment to continue to push for this outcome.
  • Rental agreements for businesses operating on station platforms.
  • The enforcement of Covid-19 rules on the rail network - Southeastern disclosed compliance with face coverings was in the 88-90% range, but trials of enhanced enforcement led to results of 98%.
