Greg has submitted his letter of support for Network Rail's renewed bid to improve access at High Brooms Station, after he successfully campaigned for the station to be awarded Access for All Funding worth £785,000 in 2020.
The latest proposal, which will see a bridge connecting platforms one and two, with lift and stair access, has been drawn up after the initial scheme to connect platform two to Clifton Road was deemed to fall outside of regulations.
Last year, Greg pushed for Network Rail to explore new options and the Department for Transport allowed the new scheme to bee designed using money from the original grant.
In his letter of support, Greg said the Victorian era station is "long overdue" and upgrade and the fact the station was awarded £750,000 in the last round of bidding was acknowledgement of this, adding: "it is a recognition of the need to provide access at High Brooms that the Department for Transport exceptionally allowed the funding to be repurposed to draw up this current proposal."
