Greg convened a meeting at the Tonbridge Royal Mail Delivery Office to follow up on feedback from some constituents that they were receiving an erratic postal delivery service in some parts of the constituency.
Greg put these experiences to the managers at the Royal Mail. They explained that staff recruitment had been causing major problems, but that a new package had been agreed reflecting the difficulties of a high-cost area like ours. New staff had joined to fill the gaps and performance levels were already showing improvements.
Speaking during the visit Greg said:
"Our postman and women work hard and many are prized by their residents. But there have been concerns over unpredictable postal deliveries in areas of staff shortage.
"I was pleased that the problem had been acknowledged and is being addressed."
