Greg has called on constituents to keep supporting their local eateries after figures revealed diners in Tunbridge Wells took full advantage of the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out programme over August, with almost 100,000 meals discounted under the scheme.
Throughout the Tunbridge Wells constituency, the 123 restaurants, cafes and pubs which participated served up 99,000 discounted meals – one of the highest in Kent.
The scheme, which ran from Monday to Wednesday during August, saved diners in the constituency a total of £534,000.
Commenting on the figures, Greg said: “Eat Out to Help Out has proven to be an excellent boost to more than a hundred cafes, pubs and restaurants throughout my constituency which have been struggling – through no fault of their own – due to Covid-19 and lockdown measures.
“It is my hope that the scheme has given people a taste of the great range of establishments we have in Tunbridge Wells and I encourage people to keep going back to keep them in business.”
