Six months on since helping to secure the introduction of flexible ticketing on the UK's railways, Greg has written to the Secretary of State for Transport to renew his call, as outlined in his Times of Tunbridge Wells column last June, for further options to be introduced in the flexi-ticket range.
At present, people travelling on the railway 2 days a week can save significant amounts of money through purchasing the flexi ticket option introduced last May that covers 8 journeys, at any time, within a 28 day period. However, in his letter to Grant Shapps, Greg has pushed for those who travel 3 or 4 days a week to be given similar flexibility, as at present many people still have little choice but to opt for a full season ticket.
Greg also called for more contactless ticketing, so that cards and phones could be used as is already the case on the TfL network.
