New Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Greg visited the new £225m hospital in Pembury for a sneak preview just before it opened its doors to its very first patients.

Dire winter rail services

Greg met the Managing Director of Southeastern, Charles Horton, to discuss the severe weather last month which caused terrible disruption to rail services, and the recent outrageous increase in fares.

Seeing the impact of climate change in Bangladesh

Greg Clark recently returned from Bangladesh, where he travelled with the development charity Christian Aid to see for himself the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities there.

Improving local health services

Our local health services are generally good but there are some areas where I am pressing for further improvements, including mental health services, especially for young people, and care for people with Alzheimer’s.

Better local transport links

We campaigned successfully to have the A21 dualled between Tonbridge and Pembury, but there are further improvements needed to our roads and rail services on which we all rely, as well as making the area more cycle friendly.

Controlling aircraft noise

Intrusive levels of aircraft noise affects many of my constituents, especially those living towards the west of Tunbridge Wells. I have been working alongside community groups and local experts to press for Gatwick, the airlines and the regulators, to change flightpaths and operate quieter aircraft.

Upgrading mobile & faster broadband coverage

Fast, reliable broadband and mobile coverage is important for the lives of many local residents and businesses. I have been working to improve coverage in all parts of the constituency, especially in rural areas.

Supporting local communities and businesses

We are lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places in Britain and we need to work together to keep our towns and villages vibrant. I work closely with Parish Councils and community groups throughout the constituency to ensure that our towns and villages are great places to live, work and visit.

Backing young people

I believe that every young person should be able to get a good place in a good school, get an apprenticeship, job, or a place at university and get onto the housing ladder locally. I am working with local schools and employers to improve the chances of young people with special educational needs to gain work experience.
